On May 20, Sonam and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi went to Shillong for their honeymoon. But on May 23, both of them suddenly went missing. Now, 17 days later, Sonam has been found alone and in a very disturbed state — about 1,188 km away from Shillong.

She was found at Kashi Dhaba in Ghazipur. The dhaba owner, Sahil Yadav, played a key role in helping the police find her.

How Sonam Was Found

Sahil Yadav said that Sonam came to his dhaba around 1 am at night on Sunday. She looked very scared and asked to use his phone to call her family. Seeing her condition, Sahil gave her his phone. After making the call, she started crying.

Sahil also spoke to her family on the phone. After understanding how serious the situation was, he called the local police. The police came at around 2:30 am and took Sonam with them. She was alone and had gotten off a bus before reaching the dhaba. Sahil gave her water and asked her to sit and rest.

When the police asked her who she was, Sonam said, “I am Sonam from the famous Sonam-Raja Raghuvanshi case in Madhya Pradesh.” This shocked the police. They informed their senior officers and took Sonam to the hospital first, and then to a One Stop Center, where she is now getting medical and mental health support.
