What Is iS Gather?
Social media has changed the way we communicate, but most platforms still focus on endless scrolling, likes and online interactions. What if a social network could help you discover people around you in the real world?
That's the idea behind iS Gather, a free location-based social networking platform that combines a live 3D map with customizable avatars, messaging and short-form videos.
Instead of simply browsing profiles, you can explore a map and discover participating users nearby. Each person appears as a virtual avatar, making the experience feel more interactive.
Whether you're moving to a new city, traveling or looking to expand your social circle, iS Gather offers a different way to discover connections.
Top Features of iS Gather
1. Discover New People Through a Live Map
One of the most interesting features of iS Gather is its live social map. Unlike traditional social networks that primarily display a feed, iS Gather lets you explore a location-based view of people around you.
Participating users appear as 3D avatars. You can explore public profiles, discover shared interests and send an introduction to someone you'd like to know.
The number of nearby users will depend on your location, the platform's local activity and other members' privacy settings.
2. Create Your Own 3D Avatar
iS Gather lets users customize their virtual appearance. You can select visual details such as clothing and hairstyles to create an avatar that represents you.
According to the platform, your avatar can animate based on your real-world movement, including walking, running and standing still.
This creates a more engaging experience than a traditional profile picture.
3. Start Conversations Easily
Meeting someone new can feel intimidating, especially online. iS Gather makes introductions easier with one-tap ice breakers.
You can send an introductory message, view public profile information and continue chatting if the other person wants to connect.
Always respect other users' privacy and boundaries when starting conversations.
4. Explore Short Videos and Social Content
iS Gather is more than a live map. The platform also includes short videos, social posts and discovery features.
These features help users express their interests, explore content and find people with similar hobbies.
5. Privacy and Location Settings
Location-based social networking makes privacy particularly important. iS Gather provides several visibility modes:
- Public: Your profile can appear to other users on the map.
- Friends Only: Your location is visible only to your connections.
- Ghost Mode: Your location is hidden from other users.
You can change your visibility settings. Before using the map, review location permissions and avoid sharing your home address or daily routine publicly.
