Although this surge is less than in the last 2 years, other indicators show that the virus is spreading rapidly. The Covid-19 virus has been found in sewage water. A large number of people are reaching hospitals and clinics, they are showing symptoms of corona. Thailand has also seen Covid-19 cases rise twice since the ‘Songkran’ festival celebrated in April, as there is more crowding during this time.

Experts say the surge in Covid-19 cases this summer, when viruses usually weaken, suggests the virus will spread beyond seasonal boundaries. Health agencies have urged the elderly and people with weakened immunity to get a booster dose.
