Is AI technology affecting jobs or not?

AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence, is the technology that enables machines to think, understand and take decisions. In the last few years, AI has brought revolutionary changes in the technological world. While on one hand it is making the lives of humans easier, on the other hand this question is also being raised again and again – has AI become a threat to our employment i.e. jobs?

In this article, we will understand in detail how AI is affecting jobs, in which areas its impact is more, and whether it means that humans will lose their jobs or new job opportunities will also be created.

AI and Automation – The First Setback

The first and biggest impact of AI was seen in automation. Many big industries have started incorporating robots and automated machines in factories and manufacturing units. Where earlier 10 people used to work on an assembly line, now 2 people and 8 machines are seen there.

This has had a direct impact on manual and repetitive jobs – such as packing, screw fitting, data entry, cash counters, etc. For example, self-checkout kiosks have now been installed in malls, where customers can scan and pay themselves – no cashier is needed.

AI penetration in the service industry

AI is not limited to factories only, now it has rapidly entered the service sector as well. In banking, AI-based chatbots are answering customer queries, in healthcare, medical images are being reported by AI, and in education, children are being tutored by AI tools.

Many companies have started using chatbots and virtual assistants instead of humans in customer care support. On one hand, this provides 24×7 support to the customer, but on the other hand, the jobs of those working in call centers are in danger.

But is every job in danger?

No, not at all. It is true that some types of jobs, which are repetitive and predictable, may be reduced due to AI. But there are some jobs that AI cannot do completely – such as creative jobs (writing, painting, film making), judgment-based professions (judges, doctors, counselors), and work based on direct communication with people (teaching, sales, management).

AI can only do work that is data-based and process-driven in a better way. Things like human thinking power, emotional understanding, and social behavior are still far ahead of machines.

New opportunities related to AI

While on the one hand some jobs have been in danger, on the other hand AI has also created new opportunities. Now new profiles like data scientist, machine learning engineer, AI researcher, prompt engineer, NLP expert have emerged which are in great demand.

Similarly, for those who are in traditional fields (such as marketing, content writing, editing), AI tools are like a support, which can make their work easier and better. That is, AI can be seen as a partner rather than a threat – provided we learn to adopt it.

India and AI

The influence of AI is gradually increasing in India. The government is also running programs like “AI for All” so that citizens are aware of AI and can use it. Startups, education platforms, healthcare sector – AI has started making its place everywhere.

But in a country like India where a large population lives in rural areas, the risk of being affected by AI is a little less because there is still a lot of manual work there. But changes are definitely being seen in urban and technology-based jobs.

What should we do?

Instead of being afraid of AI, we should keep pace with it. We have to keep updating our skills. “Reskilling” and “Upskilling” are the biggest needs of today. We have to understand that the jobs of the future will be linked to technology.

Schools and colleges should include AI-related courses in their curriculum so that the coming generation can be prepared. Similarly, working professionals should keep themselves updated through online courses, training and seminars.

Conclusion

AI technology has impacted jobs – this is true. But it is not completely negative. It is a change – like every technological change. History is witness that whenever a new technology has come, old jobs have been lost, but new and better jobs have also come.

The same is the case with AI – if we can adapt ourselves in time, then it can prove to be a boon for us. We need the right thinking, the right skills and the right attitude.

“Don’t be afraid of AI, know it, understand it and use it – only then will you be able to succeed in the future.”

Investing money for your children’s future: A complete guide

Every parent wishes for their child to have a better future—better education, career, and lifestyle. But to make this dream come true, love and upbringing alone are not enough, but financial planning and investments are also required. Investing money on time and in the right way can make your children’s future secure and independent.

In this article, we will learn how to invest for your children, when to invest, in which options, and what things should be kept in mind while investing.

Why is investment needed for children?

Increasing education costs

Education has become very expensive in today’s time. College fees, coaching for competitive exams, studying abroad—all these expenses can go up to lakhs of rupees.

Inflation

Inflation reduces the purchasing power of your money every year. What is possible for ₹5 lakh today, can become an expense of more than ₹10 lakh after 10 years.

Independent future

Investing can help you make your children financially independent so that they don’t have to take loans.

When and how to start investing?

  • Start Early

If you start investing right from the birth of your child, you get time to build a large corpus by making small monthly investments. The magic of compounding is that investments grow faster with more time.

  • Set Clear Goals

You must first decide the purpose for which you are investing:

  • Schooling
  • Higher education
  • Studying abroad

Top investment options for children

Public Provident Fund (PPF)

  • Tenure: 15 years
  • Interest rate: Fixed by the government, usually 7–8%
  • Tax benefits: Tax exemption under section 80C
  • Risk: Very low
  • Recommendation: Open a PPF account in the name of the children and invest for the long term.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY)

  • Benefits: Only for daughters
  • Interest rate: Around 8%
  • Lock-in period: Till the girl child turns 21
  • Tax benefits: EEE (Exempt-Exempt-Exempt) category
  • Recommendation: If you have a daughter, this is an excellent scheme.

Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) – in Mutual Funds

  • Returns: Up to 10–14% (in the long term)
  • Risk: Market based, but the risk reduces in the long run
  • Flexibility: Can start or stop investing anytime
  • Tip: Build a large corpus by investing small monthly investments

Child Plan Insurance Policy

  • Benefits: Both protection and savings for children
  • Premium: Fixed
  • Rating: Read carefully, some plans offer very low returns
  • Tip: If you want a certain amount along with protection, you can choose this option.

Fixed Deposit (FD) – In the name of children

  • Risk: Nil
  • Return: 6–7%
  • Taxation: Tax applicable on interest
  • Recommended: Suitable for short term goals

Gold – Digital or Sovereign Gold Bond

  • Benefits: Better protection against inflation
  • Return: Between 6–8%
  • Recommended: Suitable for children’s marriage or long term investment

Things to keep in mind while investing

  • Keep the objective and time frame clear
  • Decide the objective and time frame of every investment—e.g., ₹20 lakh is needed for child’s college fees in 18 years.

Diversification

  • Don’t keep your investments in one place. Make a mix of PPF, SIP, SSY etc.

Keep insurance separate

  • Keep insurance and investments separate. Term insurance is important for protecting children’s future.

Review every year

  • Evaluate your portfolio every year. Make changes if needed.

Teach your children too

  • When the children are a little older, start teaching them about investing so that they understand the responsibility too.

An example: 15-year investment plan

  • Suppose you have a one-year-old daughter and you want to create a corpus of ₹25 lakh by the time she turns 18.
  • Options Monthly investment Estimated annual return Fund after 17 years
  • SIP (Equity Fund) ₹5,000 12% Around ₹25.5 lakh
  • PPF ₹3,000 7.5% Around ₹11 lakh
  • SSY (for daughter) ₹2,000 8% Around ₹9 lakh

Thus, with a combined plan, you can create a corpus of up to ₹30 lakh.

Conclusion

Investing for your children’s future is not just a financial decision, but it is also a symbol of your love and responsibility. An early start, right planning, and disciplined investing can help you give your children a secure, independent, and successful life.

A small step today can become a big flight for your child tomorrow.

Mental Health is Everything

In today’s fast-paced life, people have started paying attention to physical health, but mental health is often ignored. “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body” – this saying is as old as it is relevant. But now the time has come to think about it in reverse: “A healthy mind develops a healthy body.” Mental health not only affects our ability to think, understand and respond, but it also determines our relationships, functioning and quality of life.

What is mental health?

Mental health refers to our emotional, psychological and social state. It determines how we handle stress, relate to others and make decisions. Mental health is important at every stage of life – from childhood to old age.

Mental health includes elements such as positive thinking, self-esteem, resilience, emotion regulation and social connectedness. If it is not balanced, a person may experience depression, anxiety, stress, loneliness, fear, and even suicidal thoughts.

Importance of Mental Health

  • The basis of overall health:

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “health” does not mean only the absence of disease, but a state of physical, mental and social well-being. If the mental state is not good, then we cannot be called completely healthy in any way.

  • Improves decision making ability:

A stable and calm mind provides clarity in decision making. A stressed person often makes wrong decisions, which can be harmful for him and the people around him.

  • Improves relationships:

A mentally healthy person maintains balance in his relationships. He communicates intelligently, has empathy and maintains relationships.

  • Productivity in work life:

A mentally stable person performs better at the workplace. He is creative, skilled in teamwork and is punctual.

  • Increases quality of life:

A mentally balanced person finds happiness in small things, is optimistic, and lives like a celebration.

Symptoms of mental illness]

  • Persistent sadness or feeling of hopelessness
  • Sleep disturbances (too much or too little sleep)
  • Lack of energy
  • Withdrawal from social activities
  • Irritability or anger
  • Thoughts of suicide or self-harm
  • Addiction

If these symptoms persist for more than two weeks, it may be a sign of a mental health problem.

Factors affecting mental health

  • Genetic causes:

Mental illnesses are sometimes hereditary. A person with a history of mental illness in the family is at a higher risk.

  • Life events:

Events such as the death of a loved one, accident, divorce, job loss, etc. can cause severe trauma to the mental state.

  • Physical health:

Some diseases, such as hormonal imbalances, thyroid, cancer or neurological diseases, can lead to mental illness.

  • Addiction and addiction:

Alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc. badly affect mental health.

  • Social pressure:

Studies, jobs, relationships, societal expectations, the influence of social media — all these things put pressure on the youth, especially mentally.

How to take care of mental health?

  • Speak openly:

Sharing your feelings is very important. Talking to friends, family, or a counselor lightens the mental burden.

  • Exercise regularly:

Yoga, pranayama, jogging or dance — any physical activity reduces mental stress and increases ‘happy hormones’.

  • Have a balanced diet:

It is essential to take a nutritious diet to keep the brain healthy. Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B, magnesium, etc. are helpful in mental health.

  • Prioritize sleep:

Getting a good sleep of 7-8 hours every day refreshes the mind and reduces stress.

  • Meditation and mindfulness:

Spending some time every day meditating, breathing mindfully or doing mindfulness exercises brings positive changes in the mental state.

  • Digital detox:

Staying away from social media and mobile for some time gives peace to the mind.

  • Seek professional help:

If the situation is getting worse, do not hesitate to seek help from a psychiatrist, counselor or psychologist.

Mental health status in India

Awareness about mental health is still limited in India. Social taboos, superstitions, and lack of information make people hide mental problems. It is still a common belief to consider mental illness as “madness”, whereas it is as common a health problem as sugar or BP.

The National Health Mission and other organizations are now working in the field of mental health. In 2017, the Government of India implemented the “Mental Healthcare Act”, which protects the rights of mental patients.

Still, mental health services do not reach rural areas, and the number of psychiatrists is much less than required.

Mental health and youth

Increasing competition among youth, adverse effects of social media, career pressure and instability in relationships have increased mental stress. There is an urgent need for mental health education in schools and colleges. They should be made to understand that failure, loneliness or rejection is not the end. Solutions come from communication, support and understanding.

Conclusion

“Mental health is everything” — this is not just a sentence, but the most important truth of today’s times. If the mind is healthy, we can face the challenges of life, maintain relationships, and move ourselves forward.

There should be open discussion on mental health in every section of society — home, school, workplace. We have to adopt it as a normal subject by removing shame, fear and stigma. Only a mentally strong person can make society, country and the world better.

So, make mental health a priority from today itself. Because healthy mind = successful life.

Frauds in the name of online earning: A truth that is important to know

The Internet has completely changed our lives. We are now increasingly dependent on online means for education, entertainment, shopping and even earning. Especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, advertisements of ‘earn from home’ have increased rapidly. But with this speed, frauds related to online earning are also skyrocketing.

Millions of people fall prey to such scams every year in which they are lured to earn quick money without hard work. In this article, we will know what these scams are, how they work, how to avoid them and what to do if you become a victim.

Common scams related to online earning

Paid Survey Scams

Many websites claim that they will give you money for completing surveys. Initially they give some money, which builds trust. Later they say that to earn more money you have to buy a “Professional Account”. As soon as you send the money, the website shuts down or stops contacting you.

Data Entry Scam

This is the most common fraud. You are told to earn thousands of rupees by typing from home. 500 to 5000 rupees are taken in the name of registration fee. Later either no work is found or such work is found which is impossible to complete, and then your hard work is not paid.

Network Marketing and Pyramid Schemes

In these, you are asked to add others and earn money from them. Your earnings depend on how many people you added to this scheme. This is a kind of ‘Ponzi scheme’ which eventually collapses and the money of new people is lost.

Crypto and Trading Scams

Many websites and mobile apps promise you high profits in the name of cryptocurrency and forex trading. They first win trust by showing some profit and then disappear after making a big investment.

Freelancing fraud

Some fake clients offer you work on freelancer websites and then disappear with the work before payment. There are also some cases where a “security fee” is asked to be paid first to earn money.

Fake job offers and interview scams

Many times, a job abroad is offered through email or WhatsApp. Then, money is asked for visa processing fees, medical tests, or other charges. Neither the job is given nor the money is returned.

How to identify if it is a scam?

  • Claims of getting rich quick – Promises like “Earn ₹1 lakh in 30 days”, “₹5000 in 2 hours a day” are always a scam.
  • Asking for registration fee – If someone asks you to pay money first, be cautious.
  • Professional websites and fake reviews – Many scammers add fake reviews and reviews to make the website look real.
  • No valid contact information – The company does not have a valid address, email or phone number.
  • Negative reviews on Google – Scams are often shared online by other people. Check by searching.

How to avoid these scams?

  1. Do research

Before working with any website or person for a money making opportunity, check its reviews on Google, search with keywords like “XYZ company scam”.

  1. Do not make any payment

Legitimate companies do not ask you for money to earn money. If someone is asking for money first, it is a red flag.

  1. Use freelancing websites properly

Take work from trusted websites like Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr. If someone is offering work through email or WhatsApp, be cautious.

  1. Be cautious on social media

Do not blindly believe the “earn from home” ads running on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Many of these are fake.

  1. Keep cyber security strong

Keep antivirus in your mobile and computer, do not click on unknown links and do not share personal information.

What to do if you become a victim of scam?

Complain to cyber crime

Go to the cyber crime portal of the Government of India and file a complaint. Here you can tell your case with complete information.

File an FIR in the nearest police station

If the matter is serious (such as fraud of a large amount), then file an FIR with the police. Legal action is necessary against fraudsters.

Inform the bank

If you have made an online transaction, immediately inform the bank and request to stop the transaction.

Make people aware

Share your experience on social media so that other people can also be alert and avoid fraud like you.

Role of government and cyber agencies in India

The Government of India is taking several steps to deal with online fraud:

Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930

If you need immediate help, contact this helpline number.

Digital Literacy Campaign

The government has launched campaigns to educate people on internet safety and financial literacy under the Digital India initiative.

CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team)

This organization monitors and advises on internet related threats.

Conclusion

Earning online is a real possibility, but it is your responsibility to identify and avoid the threats associated with it. If any website or person promises you quick money without hard work, then understand – it may be a fraud.

Be smart, be cautious and make informed decisions before adopting any earning opportunity. The internet is as full of opportunities as it is of threats – the only difference is information.

Think wisely about your future

Every person wishes for happiness, success and prosperity in his life. But to achieve all this, hard work alone is not enough; one also needs to think and take decisions in the right direction. This is wisdom – “smart thinking”. In today’s changing times, only education or degree cannot make the future, but it is important that we think what, why and how to do.

This article is based on the need, methods and effects of “thinking wisely for your future”, so that every reader can see his life goals clearly and work in that direction.

What is future thinking?

Future thinking means adopting a long-term perspective. It means that we do not take decisions only on the basis of today’s circumstances or desires, but understand how our decisions today will affect our tomorrow.

For example:

If a student studies only to pass the exam, he can be successful today. But if he tries to understand deeply keeping the future in mind, he can make a better career.

If a working person only thinks of increasing his salary, he will be limited; but if he focuses on skill development and networking, he can achieve great success in the future.

Why is smart thinking needed?

  • Competitive world
Today, competition is very high in every field. You need not only hard work but also cleverness and strategy to move ahead.
  • Technological change
The world is changing rapidly — artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, etc. have affected traditional jobs. In such a situation, if we remain stuck in old thinking, we will be left behind.
  • Uncertainty of life
The Coronavirus epidemic has made it clear how many uncertainties can exist in life. It is wise to be prepared mentally, financially, and professionally.

What does it mean to think smart?

Thinking smart does not mean only being clever, but maintaining balance and foresight in every area of your life.

It is important to adopt smart thinking in the following areas:

(a) Education and Career

  • Choose subjects that have scope in the future.
  • Don’t just run after marks, also focus on skills and practical knowledge.
  • Look at your career from a business perspective – find skill-based sources of income, not just jobs.

(b) Financial Management

  • Spend according to income.
  • Start investing early – learn about SIP, mutual funds, stocks, etc.
  • Keep an emergency fund, get insurance.

(c) Personal Development

  • Learn something new every day – read books, listen to podcasts.
  • Do self-analysis – identify your weaknesses and strengths.
  • Become proficient in time management.

(d) Health

  • No goal can be achieved in the future without good health.
  • Give as much importance to mental health as physical health.

How to adopt smart thinking habits?

Set Clear Goals

  • Without goals, life is directionless. Set both small and big goals for yourself — like:
  • Learning a new language in a year.
  • Getting a promotion in 6 months.
  • Starting your own business in 5 years.

Plan Actively

After setting a goal, make a plan to reach it. Make a SMART plan:

  • Specific,
  • Measurable,
  • Achievable,
  • Relevant,
  • Time-bound

Use time wisely

Smart people use time as an asset. Don’t waste unnecessary time on social media, rather invest that time in new skills or exercise.

Seek Mentorship

Often people make wrong decisions because they don’t get the right information. Seek mentorship — it can save you both time and effort.

Be flexible

Smart people have the ability to change their decisions according to the circumstances. If a plan is failing, don’t be afraid to change it.

Common mistakes that ruin the future

  • ❌ Thinking only about today

People often say, ” What will happen will be seen.” This approach can hold you back in life.

  • ❌ Making decisions according to society or others

Choosing a career or life partner only under the pressure of parents, friends or society can prove to be wrong in the long run.

  • ❌ Being afraid of taking risks

People who never take any new steps remain where they are. People who think for the future make decisions by evaluating the possible risks.

Inspirational example

  • 🚀 Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Coming from a poor family, Kalam sahab had planned his future from the beginning. He showed interest in science and education, kept trying, and became the President of India. His life shows that dreams are not what you see while sleeping, but dreams are those that do not let you sleep.

  • 💼 Narayana Murthy (Infosys)

His vision was of technical entrepreneurship rather than a traditional job. He planned wisely, built a team and built one of the first successful IT companies of India.

Conclusion

The future is not something that happens suddenly. It is the result of your thoughts, decisions and efforts today. Only those who live their lives thoughtfully, with foresight and with a clear plan are able to make their future successful.

Thinking wisely does not mean that you live in fear, but it means that you live with awareness. Think at every step — where will this decision take me after 5 years?

So start from today itself. Give a new direction to your life — make dreams your goals and achieve the goals with planning.
